For those of you who love your British TV shows, we have good news! A new streaming service is being created by British TV giants BBC and ITV which they have dubbed ‘Britbox’, which will give users access to a Netflix-like service dedicated to British television.
The service will be completely ad-free and feature popular shows such as ‘Eastenders’, ‘Fawlty Towers’ and ‘Keeping Up Appearances’.
Many British TV shows have proven to be very popular when they were brought over to the States, but the months and months of waiting for the new episodes to make their way across the pond can put strain on fan’s patience.
ITV executive Simon Pitts said in a statement that “Britain produces some of the best television in the world and we’re delighted to be bringing the creative might of the BBC and ITV together for the first time in this exciting new streaming service for U.S. fans”.
This service is planned to be made available sometime in the first quarter of 2017 on Chromecast, Apple TV, Roku, as well as on web browsers.
