Best Buy Today Offering $15 Discount on Microsoft Band 2

The Microsoft Band 2 is one of many new devices that the Redmond tech titan announced at its New York event on October 6 – and today is the last day that you can try out the wearable, and pick up a $15 gift card for doing so, at select outlets of big box retailer Best Buy.

The Microsoft Band 2 succeeds the original Microsoft Band released last year. It is best described as a smart band with smartwatch features, rather than a smartwatch to rival the Apple Watch; as is clear in Pocketnow‘s hands-on look below, it is primarily driven towards boosting health and fitness.

Though the band will not be released in the US until October 30, it is – as made clear by product marketer Paul Britton on Twitter – currently on display and available to sample at a number of Best Buy stores.

Anyone trying on the device at one of these stores will be able to pick up a $15 gift card to put towards the purchase of an eligible smartwatch, activity tracker or health and fitness device with a cost of $49.99 or higher. Naturally, this choice includes the Microsoft Band 2, which Best Buy has priced at $249.99.

However, today is the last day of this promotion – so, if you want to learn of the nearest participating Best Buy outlet, head to the Wearable Technology Demo Days page of the retailer’s website, click ‘Sunday’ under the heading ‘Microsoft Band Product Demo’ and follow the prompts.
