The Overwatch Summer Games are back and if you’re a fan of the game you’ll know that its more than a competitive shooter game. It’s all about collecting virtual action figures, too. With the new seasonal event comes new skins and, in no particular order, here’s our pick of some of the best.
Lifeguard (McCree)
With both cowboy and surfer dude being archetypal Californian personas, McCree’s summer look makes perfect sense. His poncho is now a beach towel and he might look a bit like a bionic Hasselhoff but he still somehow manages to retain his edge.
Côte d’Azur (Widowmaker)
So we ignored the impractical footwear as seen on Lifegaurd McCree but Widowmaker’s are just too blatant not to mention. It’s true that she brings the sex appeal and that the Femme Fatale persona is her thing, but its hard to imagine her succeeding in the perfect shot while wearing a pair of wedged heels. However, its exactly this that makes this skin so perfect.
Biker (Reaper)
He’s not really decked out for sunning himself on the French Riviera but Reaper’s BMX look gives him the look of a sports daredevil which is exactly what we’re looking for, right?
Cricket (Junkrat)
Junkrat steps out as some sort of rogue cricket player that looks like he’s lost a bar fight after an unfair game. Perhaps this inspiration comes from the fact that his frag grenades resemble cricket balls? Of course, his usual machinery has been modified to complement his sports uniform.
Grillmaster 76 (Soldier 76)
Solider 76? More like Barbecue Dad. With his combat apron, cargo shorts and sandals with socks, this skin is the epitome of a true American summer. If you look closely, Grillmaster’s gun actually says “A Salt Rifle” and if you think this isn’t a perfect dad joke then you’re wrong.
