Big Changes Coming in iOS 9?

It’s rumored that Apple’s next mobile operating system is to offer a host of new features in order to take advantage of the iPhone 6S powerful hardware. The rumors stem from Apple’s Asian supply point and claim that an iPhone 6S with 2GB of RAM is on its way. Its predecessor only offers 1GB. It’s thought that iOS 9 take full advantage of the extra memory.

Nonetheless, Apple will need to ensure that the operating system can function on devices with 1GB of RAM in order to avoid a backlash from many of its customers. Rumors are also suggesting that the 4S, which offers a relatively modest 512MB of RAM, may be about to be phased out. Apple are yet to officially announce any plans for the new operating system but the company is expected to launch the 6S in the coming months.

The only Apple device offering 2GB of RAM to be launched in 2014 was the iPad Air 2. Experts expect the rumors to have weight due to the fact that the information came from Apple’s supply chain. Nonetheless, it’s claimed that Apple are still lagging behind Samsung when it comes to RAM, with their main rival having already announced devices with 4GB on board.

Would you be prepared to upgrade your iPhone 6 or 6 Plus to a 6S if double the amount of RAM was available? Tell us your thoughts below.
