First single from James Durbin’s new album to be released Friday

Santa Cruz rocker James Durbin is making plans for his second album to be released in April 2014, and, as a promotional preview for the new recording, Durbin is releasing a new single on Friday.

The song “Parachute” will be available on iTunes on Friday. A video for the song will debut in December on YouTube. The song is the first new material on the market for Durbin since his 2011 album “Memories of a Beautiful Disaster,” which was released just a few months after he finished as a runner-up on “American Idol” and launched a Durbin-mania craze throughout Santa Cruz.

“Memories” spawned two hit singles, “Love Me Bad” and “Stand Up,” the latter a rock anthem that was played in NFL stadiums throughout the football season in 2011 and 2012.

Durbin will release the still-untitled new album on April 8, 2014. For more information, go to www.durbinrock.com.
