Tomorrow, March 8, as well as being the day of Apple’s Spring Event, is International Women’s Day. Apple is kicking off the celebrations with a month of Time to Walk episodes hosted by inspiring women. The first, presented by the celebrated activist Malala Yousafzai, will be released tomorrow.

Time to Walk is a feature for the Apple Watch, provided with an Apple Fitness+ subscription, that encourages users of the wearable to go out for a stroll in the fresh air.

The Cupertino company launched Time to Walk in January 2021, when much of the world was still subject to COVID-19 lockdowns, the idea being to provide company to lone walkers in the form of ‘episodes’ narrated by famous individuals, such as actors, musicians, sportspeople, and activists.

During each episode of Time to Walk, the guest tells stories from their life, illustrated with photos that the user can see on the screen of their Apple Watch at certain points. Concluding each episode, three meaningful songs chosen by the guest are played.

Yousafzai has been an advocate for women’s rights for years, and despite the Taliban attempting to assassinate her, she continued to advocate for women’s education and became the youngest winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2018.

In her episode, she will talk about the importance of friendship and how good friends can make you feel at home anywhere. She will also share pictures from throughout her life.

Those wishing to listen to Malala’s episode once it becomes available will be able to find it in the Fitness app on their Apple Watch. Don’t forget that in order to use Time to Walk, you will also need to have AirPods or other Bluetooth headphones paired to your watch.
