The smartphone-based banking company Chime has announced that Chime Visa debit cards can now be used with Apple Pay for making in-store and in-app payments on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
These cards can be added to Apple Pay in the usual manner – so, by tapping “Add Credit or Debit Card” in the iPhone’s Wallet app or, for registering on iPad, choosing the same option in the “Wallet & Apple Pay” section of the Settings app. In-store payments are possible with compatible iPhone and Apple Watch models, while in-app payments are limited to compatible iPhones and iPads.
The free Chime app for iPhone and Apple Watch allows FDIC-insured spending and savings accounts to be completely managed from a mobile device. Unique merits of banking with Chime include the absence of overdrafts and minimum or monthly fees, along with the bonuses of personalized rewards, two-factor authentication and no-fee access to over 24,000 MoneyPass ATM machines.
