Judging from a new report on the Chinese social networking site Weibo, the batteries of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus could turn out slightly bigger than those of the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.
As paraphrased into English by 9to5Mac, the poster claims that, while the iPhone 7’s battery will have a 1,735 mAH capacity, the iPhone 7 Plus’s battery capacity will be 2,810 mAH. By way of comparison, the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus have respective battery capacities of 1,715 mAH and 2,750 mAH.
Capacity alone does not determine for how long a battery can be used before the necessity of recharging, as the efficiency of the components also comes into play. Therefore, the extent of improvement in battery life could largely depend on how power efficient the A10 chip will be.
It is also worth pointing out, as 9to5Mac does, that uncredited leaks on Chinese social networking sites are not consistently reliable, though they remain accurate often enough to be worth taking account of.
