Could The Rumored New MacBook Pro Be Unveiled on October 27?

The next MacBook Pro, rumored to come with an OLED “touch bar” and Touch ID sensor, is generating much excitement – and October 27 evidently could be the date that it is officially announced.

It’s crucial to emphasize the word “could” there, as Apple has not even – yet, at least – announced an event for that date. However, after a source reportedly told MacRumors that the new MacBook Pro could arrive in late October, a peculiar sequence of events has increased that claim’s credibility…

Two days ago, Apple revealed that its earnings call for the just-gone fourth fiscal quarter had been moved from Thursday, October 27 to Tuesday, October 25 as a result of a “scheduling conflict”. However, Philip Elmer-DeWitt notes that Apple has not clarified exactly what this scheduling conflict was, even when pressed by reporters, including Elmer-DeWitt himself.

This led 9to5Mac scribe Ben Lovejoy to float the idea that Apple has decided to make room on October 27 for an event launching the new MacBook Pro. The Motley Fool senior technology specialist Daniel Sparks has since suggested the same idea. It might not be long before we’re back to the Mac…
