The streaming wars have already started. We have seen how successful streaming services have become especially now that people are more likely to binge-watch different movies and shows through online streaming. Seeing that they could capitalize on the success of streaming services, Disney started their own service called Disney+.
Given the fact that Disney owns the rights to Marvel Studios and that the company will be streaming-only Disney content on their own streaming service, Disney+ has a large roster of Marvel films and shows that you can stream using your mobile device, your computer, or your television.
Marvel
We are not strangers to movies and TV shows based on Marvel characters and comic books as they have been around for a while already. But the number instantly increased drastically when Marvel Studios began releasing more films since 2008.
When it comes to the movies released by Marvel Studios, there are a total of 23 different films. All 23 of those movies are part of the Infinity Saga, which began with the first Iron Man film and was concluded by Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Then, when it comes to the Marvel TV shows that are also from Marvel Studios, there are 18 that have already been released. The latest of which is WandaVision.
All in all, there are currently 24 MCU movies and TV shows that you can watch online through streaming services or on DVD and Blu-Ray. And if we counted the shows that are not part of the MCU but are still from Marvel Studios, we have a total of 41 movies and shows that have been released since 2008.
Disney+
One of the biggest attractions that could help draw people to subscribe to Disney+ is the Marvel content made available through that streaming service. That’s why Disney made sure that most, if not all, of the Marvel films and series, are available for streaming through the Disney+ app or website.
With that said, here are all of the different Marvel films and TV shows that you can currently stream on Disney+:

Meanwhile, there are a lot of different Marvel Studios TV shows that are available for streaming on Disney+ right now. The latest release is WandaVision as Marvel Studios is set to release more Disney+ originals that are based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Missing pieces
As you might have already noticed by now, there are some Marvel Studios films and TV shows that are missing from Disney+. The primary reason is that the distribution rights to those films and TV shows are owned by different companies and streaming services. If you want to know, here are the films and shows that are not available on Disney+:
MCU Movies
While The Incredible Hulk is technically a part of the MCU timeline and is actually the second film in the MCU right after the first Iron Man movie, it is not on Disney+ because Universal Studios still owns the rights to the film. The movie is not owned by Marvel Studios but Universal Studios worked in partnership with Marvel for this film.
Even though Spider-Man is technically a part of the MCU now after Sony struck a deal with Marvel Studios to include the character in the MCU, the distribution rights to the character and to all of the related films are still owned by Sony. That means that Marvel Studios doesn’t have any rights to the main Spider-Man motion pictures but can still include the character as part of its other films.
The same reason why Spider-Man: Homecoming is not on Disney+ applies to Spider-Man: Far From Home. Sony still maintains ownership over the distribution rights of all Spider-Man movies but has only allowed the character to appear in Marvel Studios’ MCU.
TV Shows
As to the TV shows, the reason why some of them are not on Disney+ is that they were originally released in other streaming services and TV networks, which still own the distribution rights over them. Even though these films were released by Marvel Studios, they are not part of the main timeline in the Marvel films and are more or less standalone series. Such shows include Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, The Punisher, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Six of those TV shows were originally released by another streaming service and are still available on it. Meanwhile, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is shown on another television network with its latest season premiering back in 2020.
All things considered, Disney+ has an amazing roster of Marvel Studios movies and shows that are going to keep you entertained and engaged in the entire Marvel universe. So, if you are free on a weekend and you feel like binging through all of those movies and shows, make sure to keep yourself comfy and well-fed because you are certainly going to be sitting on your couch for a very long time.
