Disney has confirmed plans to launch its new streaming service early in Europe.

The company launched Disney+ in the United States back in November, offering users access to more than 500 movies and 7,500 TV shows, including new original shows such as The Mandalorian, which has gone down well and spawned the Baby Yoda meme.

Disney+ will now launch in the United Kingdom, as well as in European markets such as Italy, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland, France, and Germany, on March 24, 2020.

Disney will also launch the service in Belgium, the Nordics, and Portugal over the summer.

“Disney+ offers fans of all ages a new way to experience the unparalleled content from the company’s iconic entertainment brands, including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic, as well as exclusive original programming including feature-length films, series, documentaries, and short-form content made exclusively for the service,” the company said in a statement.

At launch, users in Europe will be able to enjoy Disney+ content on all mobile and connected TV devices, including Apple TVs, Google Chromecasts, and Amazon Fire TV Sticks.

Available for just £5.99/€6.99 per month, or £59.99/€69.99 per year, users will be able to stream up to four movies or TV shows at the same time and download an unlimited number of shows on up to ten devices, with seven profiles and Kids Profiles which only offer access to age-appropriate content.
