Disney has announced its latest earnings results, confirming it’s hit 116 million subscribers.
The company’s results beat expectations from Wall Street, posting revenue of $17.02 billion.
Analysts had expected the company would reach around 114 million subscribers for its Disney+ platform, but it appears Disney added another two million to their predictions.
The company has already said it wants to reach 230 million subscribers around the world by 2024.
Unlike Apple TV+, which has struggled to make any meaningful impact with its small range of content, Disney+ has access to thousands of hours of classic content, with films and TV shows beloved by millions. That’s on top of a growing catalog of exclusive movies and series, including WandaVision and Loki. In some markets, Disney includes Star, which offers access to classic shows like Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives, too.
In the same period, the company registered 14.9 million ESPN+ subscribers and 42.8 million Hulu subscribers.
Earlier in the year, it was revealed that Disney has a 13% stronghold on the US streaming services market.
