DJ Calvin Harris spotted with new Mac Pro in the recording studio

DJ and producer Calvin Harris has been spotted with the new Mac Pro in an Instagram clip from his recording studio, suggesting a public release could be just around the corner.

The This Is What You Came For and How Deep Is Your Love singer took to Instagram over the weekend to share videos, offering a sneak peek at a song he had been working on.

In the background, however, it’s easy to spot the new Mac Pro powering his efforts.

Calvin Harris’ Instagram story clearly shows a Mac Pro sitting on the floor next to his desk, so it appears he opted for a version without the wheels.

Apple is expected to offer a wheel system for the new Mac Pro so users can wheel it from room to room, though it’s unknown whether this will be included as standard or whether it will be sold as an optional extra.

It’s widely expected that Apple will have shared the new Mac Pro with some of the world’s most influential creative professionals to allow them to try out the Mac Pro before public release, build hype for the product, and get some feedback from power users at work.

Apple will sell the new Mac Pro from $5,999 in the United States.

The base model will feature an 8-core Intel Xeon processor, 256 GB SSD, and 32GB of RAM, and optional upgrades will be available both from Apple and from third parties.

The new chassis on the device means the machine can be built-to-order and upgraded at home, allowing for up to a 28-core CPU, 4 GPUs and 1.5 TB of RAM.

Apple will also sell a $4,999 Pro Display XDR, expected to be released at the same time.

Apple teased the Mac Pro at its Final Cut Pro X Summit last week, allowing users to go hands-on with the new device. It’s also received FCC approval ahead of its release, and critics expect the device to go on sale before the end of the month to meet its “fall” goal.
