In a press release marking a year since launching PlayStation Music, streaming giant Spotify has revealed that “Hotline Bling” rapper Drake is so far the most streamed artist on the service.
PlayStation Music is powered by Spotify, and allows gamers to enjoy their favorite music while playing on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Xperia devices. Other statistics that Spotify has shared about PlayStation Music’s first year include that “Lean On (ft. MØ and DJ Snake)” by Major Lazer was the most streamed song, which has helped the service to amass a staggering total of over five billion streams so far.
Ironically, Drake has, in recent times, aligned himself closely with Spotify’s biggest rival in the music streaming space, Apple Music. The Canadian rapper was present at the keynote unveiling Apple Music last June – and, more recently, his upcoming fourth studio album Views from the 6 was confirmed to be lined up as an Apple Music exclusive for the first week of its release from April 29.
