The experienced tech leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer has just posted drawings of what are allegedly the two Apple-tested prototypes of the upcoming 4-inch iPhone 5SE.
Sadly, however, the drawings – made public on Hemmerstoffer’s Twitter page – reveal little new compared to many previous reports about the iPhone 5SE. In fact, the appearance of antenna lines on the handset’s back in both images strongly suggests, in line with a previous leak by Hemmerstoffer, that the phone will basically just look like a smaller iPhone 6.

Hemmerstoffer, the editor of tech news site Nowhereelse.fr, cites his source claiming that these were the only two iPhone 5SE prototypes tested by Apple. Therefore, we can sensibly assume the second, which has the more symmetric speaker grilles, to be the final design.
According to figures accompanying that design, the iPhone 5SE will have identical measurements to the iPhone 5S, bar an extra 0.1mm on both the height and width – meaning that the upcoming phone should be compatible with many of its 4-inch predecessor’s cases.
