Dunkin’ Donuts Adds Apple Pay Support to iPhone App

Guests at US restaurants of the doughnut and coffeehouse chain Dunkin’ Donuts can now more quickly, easily and securely pay for food, drinks and other items. This is because the company has enabled use of virtual Dunkin’ Donuts Cards through Apple Pay on its iPhone app.

As explained in a press release, users of the iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, 6 or 6 Plus can now purchase, gift or reload such cards through the app. This app allows customers at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants to digitally store their cards before scanning them in-store or at the drive-thru to pay.

Scott Hudler, Vice President of Global Consumer Engagement at Dunkin’ Brands, enthused: “Apple Pay represents an important step in our ongoing commitment to leverage the best technologies to help busy, on-the-go people enjoy our full menu of coffees, donuts and sandwiches any time of day, more quickly and conveniently than ever”.

His company is another addition to the long list of businesses supporting Apple’s mobile payments service – which is also the star of the lead feature article in the current issue of AppleMagazine.
