Early Adopters Report Various Problems with New Surface Book

The Surface Book, Microsoft’s just-released answer to the MacBook Pro, has been generally well-received by critics, but early owners have reported various issues with the powerful notebook. These have ranged from dock incompatibility to unexpected black screens to program errors.

Forbes has gathered together many of the complaints that have appeared on the Microsoft Surface Forum. One new Surface Book owner with the forum handle of ericspt has noted that he “cannot boot with the dock”, while the “Dell 34″ U-Wide cannot be used with the dock.”

Other grievances from the same user include that “going to a web page where there are a lot of animations or movement causes a black screen” and that, after an extended period of use, running any program results in “a Run32DLL error”.

In the tech world, first versions of new product lines are often the most problematic, with successive models often coming with refinements and improvements resulting in what feels like the definite version of the product. Still, Microsoft will be eager to react quickly to user dilemmas to help the Surface Book in getting off to the best possible start.
