In an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, actress Emilia Clarke, known for her roles in the Game of Thrones television series, as well as the Solo: A Star Wars Story spin-off film, confirmed that she is going to have a role in Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion, a show currently in the making.
Secret Invasion is based on a comic book event that “revealed that the green-skinned shape-shifting aliens known as the Skrulls had quietly infiltrated the highest ranks of civilization on earth.” Marvel fans will already know a lot about the Skrulls and their Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) history, as they have appeared throughout the franchise, having a major role in Captain Marvel.
In the interview, Emilia Clarke confirmed her involvement in the show: “I’m already scared. (…) The first people I spoke to from Marvel were their security team and I am convinced that there is a man outside my house. There’s been a car parked there for a long time, and I swear to God, he’s undercover.”
This comes as good news for fans, who have had the opportunity to read gossip about Clarke’s potential involvement with the show for some time now. In an earlier interview, Clarke said that “the people that are making [Secret Invasion] are what pushed me over the line to really wanting to do it. I just think that everyone’s heart and heads are in the right place with this one.”
“I just think what they’re doing right now is so exciting and so cool, and so on the cutting edge of it,” she finally added. “I feel like they’re like the Apple of this world.”
