Sleek new models underscore increased desire for standing desks and height adjustable work environments

ST. PAUL, Minn. /PRNewswire/ — As more individuals and companies realize the health, comfort and productivity implications of sitting at desks during working hours, the demand for standing desks has increased enormously. Now, Apple(R) users have a sit-stand desk solution specifically designed to work with Mac(R) computers.

Ergotron, Inc., a Nortek Company (Nasdaq: NTK), a leader in the sit-stand movement and global provider of ergonomic work and lifestyle products, announced today the launch of its newest sit-stand solutions, the WorkFit-A and WorkFit-P workstations with aluminum construction designed specifically to complement Apple desktop and laptop products. Consumers are seeking flexible workstation options that adjust easily to fit their body type and their Apple equipment, but also to complement their personal style. Ergotron’s new height-adjustable workstations are the first sit-stand workstations to align with the sleek design Apple users have come to know and expect.

Ergotron is unveiling two WorkFit(TM) for Apple model units. Key product details include:

WorkFit-A Sit-Stand Workstation, for Apple(R) This unit mounts the latest iMac(R) computer on an height-adjustable arm and clamps to the back edge of an existing desk up to 31.5 inches (800 mm) deep; a grommet hole-mount base option is also included. It has fluid, one-touch motion with patented Constant Force technology, sit-stand height adjustment and a separate keyboard tray with tilt.

WorkFit-P Sit-Stand Workstation, for Apple(R) This unit is ideal for MacBook Pro(R) and MacBook Air(R). The WorkFit-P attaches to the side or rear of an existing desk to create an adjustable sit-to-stand workstation; a grommet hole-mount base option is included as well. The unit holds up to 10 pounds (4.5 kg), and has a height adjustment range of 20 inches (51 cm). The generous worksurface is ideal for use with a laptop computer or for other activities like drawing, and has fluid, one-touch motion with patented Constant Force technology.

“We are thrilled to be offering new alternatives that embrace the Apple consumer to our long-standing, industry leading WorkFit product line,” said Pete Segar, group president, Display Mount Solutions (DMS). “Since one size does not fit all, these workstations give the design-minded consumer products that can be integrated both at work and in the home, offering an easy way to stand more without giving up the well-beloved aesthetics of the Apple experience.”

Availability: These new WorkFit Sit-Stand workstations are available for pre-sale now and will be released in the United States and Canada in late October 2013 through Apple Authorized resellers. More about the Sit-Stand Movement: Ergotron has been manufacturing sit-stand computing products for more than a decade to encourage healthier movement throughout the workday. To extend the message about the importance of moving more Ergotron launched JustStand(TM) in 2010 and is now annually releasing the JustStand Index to measure the awareness of sitting disease and the dangers of sitting for prolonged periods of time.
