Facebook Bringing 360 Videos and Photos to Instant Articles

Publishers posting stories through Facebook’s Instant Articles feature, which allows for more streamlined and distraction-free news reading, are now getting the opportunity to enrich their content with 360 degree videos and photos.

A wide array of Facebook users are already able to integrate their own 360 videos and 360 photos into their content on the social media site. Now, each Instant Article, Facebook has announced, can be used by publishers to display multiple 360 videos and 360 photos that readers will be able to enjoy in-line.

That means that readers won’t have to leave the Instant Article itself to navigate the 360 media, which they can do by turning their device or tapping and dragging on the content. USA TODAY NETWORK and BILD are the first publishers showing Instant Articles with 360 media integrated in this seamless way.

Facebook says that readers using the latest iOS and Android versions can now experience such 360 media in Instant Articles. You can peruse Instant Articles on the Instant Articles Verified Page.
