Facebook Bringing Live Video to 30+ More Countries in Weeks

Facebook has announced that its live video broadcast feature Facebook Live, which arrived on the iOS app in the US last month, is rolling out to over 30 more countries ā€œin the coming weeksā€.

Facebook hasnā€™t specified which exact countries are following the US in getting Facebook Live. Anecdotally, 9to5Mac writer Ben Lovejoy reports that he is yet to see the option of Facebook Live in his app in the UK.

However, many Facebook users outside the US should soon be able to share live video by tapping ā€œWhatā€™s on your mind?ā€ on News Feed before selecting a new Live Video icon.

In other Facebook-related news, The Wall Street Journal has reported the companyā€™s intention to file a court motion, jointly with Alphabet and Microsoft, supporting Apple in its privacy conflict with the FBI. For a good backstory about that major case, you can pick up the new issue of AppleMagazine out today.
