Facebook Now Implementing Microsoft Office 365 for Employees

Microsoft has won a huge new customer for its Office 365 cloud and productivity package: Facebook! The social media site’s CIO, Tim Campos, today took to the official Microsoft Office blog to reveal how the workers under his wing are now benefitting from Office 365.

Facebook, Campos explained, needs IT that is “flexible and available over the web, on mobile and across platforms—wherever our employees need it.” However, this mobility itself calls for “a secure environment that defends against cyber attacks and protects mobile devices”, he added.

With this in mind, Facebook has implemented Office 365. While lauding the platform’s maturity, stringent security, continual evolution and global deployment, Campos has especially emphasized that Office 365 “enables our productivity with powerful new capabilities for employees, such as the ability to share and edit traditional Excel documents at the same time, across devices.”

Earlier today, Campos also appeared on-stage at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto, where he enthusiastically declared: “Microsoft got cool again”. Many other business subscribers to the Redmond tech giant’s cloud and productivity services would be hard-pressed to disagree.
