Facebook Seeks Reporter to Tell Uplifting Stories About Site

Feeling down? Facebook could soon rectify that. The social media site is, as noticed by Re/code, advertising for a reporter who can pen positive stories for its “Facebook Stories” project.

The Facebook Stories website includes many tales of how the world’s most popular social networking site has changed people’s lives for the better. Narratives recently posted to Facebook Stories include that of a black woman, Rue Mapp, using Facebook to set up Outdoor Afro, a company aimed at helping other black people to meet up and collectively enjoy outdoor pursuits like hiking and camping.

Facebook is setting high standards for whoever lands this journalistic job. According to the listing, candidates “should demonstrate an expertise in research, storytelling, news judgement and show a deep knowledge and passion for Facebook.” The successful recruit should also be experienced and thorough in interviewing, not to mention adept at juggling multiple projects in different stages.

The winning candidate, who would work at Menlo Park in California, is also expected to have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 2-3 years’ experience as a reporter, editor or news producer.
