The Russian company calls itself “an association, consisting of artists and engineers, who create unique devices developed on the basis of iPhone and iPad.” In other words, they create designer iPhones and iPads. They receive parts from suppliers in China to create beautiful, working iPhones and now iPads. Their collection currently includes an iPhone 5s made using 35 grams of pure gold. They also fill custom orders, dealing with each design element from materials to wallpapers.
On Friday, they published a YouTube video showing what appears to be an iPhone 6. The phone was assembled using parts supplied by their sources in China. These included “a leaked case, logic board, display, true-tone flash and camera.” After cobbling together the iPhone, Feld & Volk hooked it up to iTunes for a lark. Surprisingly, the phone booted up. It could not, however, connect to the software update servers.
Some are calling it a hoax, but doubters must keep in mind that, by virtue of its purpose, Feld & Volk must be able to receive hardware components ahead of time. They may very well be designing a luxury iPhone 6 as we speak.
