First Preview of Adobe Experience Design CC Arrives for Mac

Adobe has announced that the first preview release of its upcoming design prototyping software Experience Design CC is now freely available on Mac for anyone with an Adobe ID.

The software, which Adobe refers to in abbreviation as Adobe XD, enables users to mock up mobile apps or webpages in order to show in-the-works designs to developers or clients. This preview includes focused design tools, prototyping tools, fast performance, and support for bringing in work created in the other Adobe imaging apps Photoshop, Illustrator and Sketch.

However, Adobe has warned that, with the preview being a “work-in-progress”, there remain numerous gaps which the company intends to soon fill – by, for example, adding support for gradients, effects and blend modes and enhancing the color picker. Adobe added that it will act on user feedback and issue updates to Adobe XD on a monthly basis.

You can download the preview to your Mac from the Adobe website or through the Creative Cloud desktop app. A preview version of Adobe XD for Windows 10 is planned for release in late 2016.
