First Public Betas of iOS 10 and macOS Sierra Launched Today

Having released the second betas of iOS 10 and macOS Sierra for developer testing earlier this week, Apple has now followed up with the first public betas of both operating systems.

If you’re interested in testing these betas, you can sign up on the Beta Software Program section of Apple’s website. Once you’ve got either of the betas installed on a compatible device, you can test the various features and tell Apple about any bugs you come across.

While the public beta program is free to join, Apple advises that you install the betas only on secondary devices due to the possible bugs and other issues that could prove more problematic on primary devices.

iOS 10 and macOS Sierra were both announced at the leading keynote of Apple’s WWDC conference last month, and include many well-publicized exciting new features. Among these are web-based Apple Pay, lots of new messaging stickers in iMessage, and redesigned Music and News apps.

The post-beta releases of iOS 10 and macOS Sierra are expected to arrive for the wider public in the fall.
