Not many television series have left such a lasting impact on the history of television as Friends. This cult classic sitcom, regularly listed among the best and most important sitcoms ever, originally aired on NBC from 1994 to 2004 and it certainly defined the television of its era. After a full ten seasons, the “Friends” ultimately split up and went their separate ways, as the show entered history books.

Talks of a reunion have been present for years, especially since Hollywood was – in recent years – hit with the so-called “revival craze”, which has seen a lot of quite old projects getting sequels or reimaginations in recent years, several decades after the original’s release. A reunion of the Friends’ cast and the crew was originally confirmed in November 2019, when we found out that a reunion special would air on HBO Max. In February 2020, it was confirmed that the reunion would be an unscripted special episode that would feature the original cast and a lot of old and new guest appearances.

Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer all returned for the reunion, both as themselves and in the roles that made them famous around the world. We soon got confirmation that Tom Selleck, David Beckham, Reese Witherspoon, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, James Corden, Cara Delevigne, Cindy Crawford, and Malala Yousafzai would have guest appearances in the reunion, among others.

The reunion titled simply “Friends: The Reunion”, was originally scheduled for release in May 2020, but was pushed back to May 27, 2021, when it finally premiered on HBO Max. Luckily for all Friends fans with Apple devices, all of them support the HBO Max application so you’ll be able to enjoy the show from the comfort of your home and/or device. The critics said that the episode would certainly please die-hard fans of the series, so be sure to check them out on your Apple devices!
