Fujitsu Empowers Consumers With the My U-Scan Mobile App to Personalize the Checkout Experience

Fujitsu today announced support for the My U-Scan(R) mobile app, which will personalize the consumer's checkout experience. This mobile application, designed for Apple iOS and Android-based devices, makes it possible for retailers to deliver a personalized checkout experience, without the need for any Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions or datacenter infrastructures.

Retailers can either choose to have the application download supported via the app store or by their own web presence. Since common app protocols have been employed, consumers can easily and intuitively personalize their application. This enables consumers to have a more enjoyable experience at the end of their shopping trip and retailers have an opportunity to see greater customer loyalty and improved checkout times.

The personalization allows retailers to be more effective, decrease costs, increase revenues and offer unique branding. When consumers enter a self-checkout location, they scan their mobile device and instantly, predetermined customized options are activated. Some of those options include:

“We continue to develop innovative technology such as the My U-Scan mobile app to help retailers better serve their consumers,” says Brian Yates, Director of Retail Product Marketing at Fujitsu America. “Not only will the consumer benefit, but the retailer will experience improved throughput statistics, which in turn benefits everyone.”

The software release is currently available to existing and new Fujitsu U-Scan self-checkout retailers and their consumers, regardless the size of the banner.

Installed in North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, millions of consumers already enjoy Fujitsu U-Scan technology on a daily basis. The Fujitsu My U-Scan mobile app will continue to elevate the relationship among retailers and their consumers.
