Google Imitates Star Wars Opening Crawl with New Easter Egg

Are you a Star Wars fan? Then head to Google right now and search using the term “a long time ago in a galaxy far far away”. You won’t be disappointed…

That’s because, when you do conduct such a search, the results will be shown not in the usual formal but useful way, but instead in the style of the iconic opening crawl of the Star Wars films. Yes, that means the text is in yellow and, at a backwards angle, recedes slowly into space – as you can see by searching for yourself and in our screenshot posted above.

The Google staff have proven many times over the years that they have a good sense of humor, having planted many different types of Easter eggs into their widely-used search site. And the latest Easter egg is certainly topical, with the hugely eagerly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens set to open in theatres on December 14.

We at AppleMagazine are also enthusiastic about the new film – and have hardly shied away from extensive coverage of fresh developments with the hugely influential sci-fi saga.
