Google launches ‘Backup and Sync’ app for Mac

Google has announced the launch of a brand new backup app for Mac devices.

Backup and Sync is available as a free download from the Google Drive website and allows users to back up their precious photos and files – all of which will be synced to Google Photos and Google Drive respectively.

Once you have downloaded the app, you can select which folders you’d like to backup, and then they’ll automatically sync as new files are added.

Google’s app is a genuine alternative to Apple’s Time Machine and makes it easier to store your important files and photos in the cloud for accessibility and reliability.

Backup and Sync will also automatically import files from SD cards and USB sticks when they are connected to your computer – perfect for photographers and video makers.

You can download Backup and Sync today from Google Drive and Google Photos.
