Google Photos Now Supports Live Photos and Split View on iOS

With an impressive update today, the Google Photos app now supports Live Photos on the latest iPhones, Split View on the latest iPads, and the full resolution of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

Live Photos, which bring more sound and motion to photos, debuted with last year’s iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus and can now be both backed up to and viewed on Google Photos. Meanwhile, the new Split View support means that, on the iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 4 and iPad Pro, the app can be used side-by-side with other apps that support this multitasking feature.

Also, on iPad Pro, the app now displays in the tablet’s full resolution. This should help to make Google Photos more pleasing in both appearance and functionality on the larger display.

Google Photos can be downloaded for free from the iOS App Store.
