Got a New iOS Device? What You Could Do with Your Old One

If you were thrilled to find a new iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch among your presents today, here are some quick tips for how you could still effectively make use of an old iOS device it will replace.

Unwrapping a new iOS device on Christmas Day can undoubtedly be thrilling; not only have you got a great device that you weren’t expecting, you haven’t even had to pay a cent for it. However, if you’ve already got an iOS device, it could now easily end up just languishing in a drawer, ignored and unused.

This can, frankly, be a tragic waste of a device which still has decent mileage in it. You could, of course, keep it as a backup device in case of emergencies, or hand it to a family member. Alternatively, you could sell it online, or trade it in through the Apple Reuse and Recycling Program – either way, you could be surprised by how much money you can still get for your old device.

Before giving away that iOS device to another person or company, however, remember to wipe all of your data from it, restoring it to factory settings. You can then soon get back to enjoying your new device!
