What happened at Apple’s Educational Event?

A grayscale photograph of a person with short, gray hair and glasses, looking off to the side. The individual appears thoughtful, wearing a collared shirt and a jacket. The plain white background enhances the profile, reminiscent of images from an educational event inspired by Apple’s minimalist style.

Apple’s first event of 2018 took place yesterday in Chicago, Illinois at the Lane Tech College Prep High School. The unusual location of the event was down to the fact that the event’s focus was on education, marking Apple’s first education-orientated event since 2012.

The main focus of the event was the new low-cost iPad with Apple Pencil support, although Apple has announced a few other education-focused initiatives that will benefit both teachers and students.

The event lasted over an hour, but here’s everything you might have missed in neat bullet point format.
