One thing that you can rely upon each autumn is that Apple will be making the headlines with its new products. As time has gone on, these new products have seen launches that get bigger and bigger with a real fanfare build-up. Something that perhaps has to be questioned is just how far Apple can go. Can it continue to turn out another top product year on year or will the company eventually lose its shine?
The thing is, no matter what happens, we all seem to want to go for the latest upgrade and we want to be the first to have them in our hands. Whether you need your brand new iPhone for browsing the web, using social media, or taking amazing photos, this is all that you need to know about Apple’s latest products.
The ‘Far Out’ event
It was on September 7th that Apple shared details of its new releases with the rest of the world. With the event being live streamed across the internet, this event was perhaps the most accessible one that Apple has ever held. Those that tuned in were made aware of three new products that can be purchased in the very near future.
First up was the Apple Watch 8 and 8 Ultra. These watches come with a whole host of improvements when compared to the 7 series and we’ll be taking a look at these soon.
Apple also unveiled its new earbuds, known as Apple AirPods 2. Going with better noise cancellation, improved audio and extended battery life, these were certainly well received.
Last, but not least, Apple shared the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. Again, this comes with numerous improvements when compared to its predecessors and these are what we’re going to look at next.
The all-new iPhone
If you’ve followed Apple for any length of time or are someone who instantly upgrades, you’ll know that Apple always goes out of its way to ensure that the latest incarnation of the iPhone exceeds all previous ones. The iPhone 14 is no different and these are some of the changes and improvements that you’ll find:
RAM and battery life
Coming with a 6.1-inch screen, the iPhone 14 has many improvements when compared to the iPhone 13. One of these is the increase in RAM. While the iPhone 13 only came with 2GB, the iPhone 14 boasts 6GB: A 4GB increase.
One of the oldest issues faced by all smartphone users has been battery life. With more and more tasks being perfumed, batteries have found it hard to keep up with modern-day demands. well, with the iPhone 14 the hope is that this has all changed as it promises to deliver improved all-day battery life.Â
Upgraded iOS 16
The Apple iPhone 14 will also come with a new operating system, running on iOS 16. The good news here for owners of older models is that they will also be able to upgrade iOS and benefit from many of the new features being offered.
Improved camera
For a long time now, there has been a real battle between smartphone producers when it comes to camera quality. You can guarantee that every new iPhone will have taken steps to ensure that its camera gets an upgrade in the hope of making it the best on the market.
With the iPhone 14, you get an upgraded 12MP camera that features a larger sensor and aperture. There are also improvements to the front-facing camera that comes with autofocus and allows for better quality selfies.Â
Somewhere, where iPhones have often struggled, is with low-light photography. The iPhone 14 promises a fix to this with improved low-light photography and better video quality to capture moving objects.Â
New safety features
With the iPhone 14, you also get the benefit of two new safety features. These are crash detection and Emergency SOS. The first of these acts if it detects that you’ve been involved in a serious car crash. If it does, it will contact and inform the emergency services as well as your emergency contacts. The second feature helps you to connect with help and share information if an emergency takes place in an area with limited signal.
A look at the Apple Watch Series 8
