Here’s how you can spend Bitcoin via Apple Pay

Apple Pay

If you’ve been asking for a way to spend your cryptocurrency in stores and online via Apple Pay, the wait is over: Bitcoin is now the first cryptocurrency available on the wallet platform.

Bitcoin has introduced a new PrePaid Mastercard that can be added to the Apple Wallet app, making it easier than ever to spend your currency in stores and online using Apple Pay.

Thanks to the new card, users can convert their cryptocurrency into dollars and then use them to pay for things wherever a Mastercard debit card would be accepted, which is most places in the United States and online via eCommerce websites. To take advantage, you’ll need to download the BitPay app and add your new card to your Apple Wallet in a few taps.

The even better news is that Bitcoin isn’t the only currency that can be used – Ether, Bitcoin Cash, USD Coin, Gemini Dollar, Paxos Standard and Binance USD are some of the others.

Not on iOS? BitPay has promised to bring Google Pay and Samsung Pay integration soon.

Speaking of the launch, BitPay CEO Stephen Pair said: “We have thousands of BitPay Wallet app customers using the BitPay Card. Adding Apple Pay and soon Google and Samsung Pay makes it easy and convenient to use the BitPay Card in more places from day-to-day items to luxury purchases.”
