Apple’s Find My app is a great tool for tracking down lost headphones, especially if you are prone to misplacing your AirPods or AirPods Pro.

The app allows you to locate your headphones in a few different ways, depending on the model of AirPods you own and the location of the lost headphones.

If you have misplaced your AirPods within earshot, you can use the Find My app to play a sound through the headphones or charging case. To do this, you can simply ask Siri to “ping my AirPods,” or you can open the Find My app on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, select the AirPods you wish to locate, and tap “Play Sound.”

If you have the AirPods Pro, the charging case will make a louder sound, which can be more helpful in tracking down the headphones within your home or office.

If you’ve lost your AirPods further afield, you can use the Find My app to see the last location they were online on a map. This feature is available for all AirPods models, but the AirPods Pro offer a more precise location.

To use this feature, open the Find My app on an Apple device signed into the same Apple ID as your AirPods, select the headphones you wish to locate and tap “Find.” The app will display the approximate or precise location of your AirPods on a map, and you can then follow the on-screen guidance to try to retrieve them.

If you are still unable to locate your lost AirPods, you can mark them as lost through the Find My app. This will list the serial number of your AirPods as lost and provide further instructions on how to retrieve them.

It is important to mark your AirPods as lost as soon as possible, as it may increase your chances of recovering them.

The Find My app is a useful tool for tracking down lost headphones, and it is especially helpful for those who frequently misplace their AirPods or AirPods Pro. Whether you’ve left them at a friend’s house or simply can’t remember where you put them within your own home, the app can help you locate your headphones and get back to enjoying your music.
