We all know now about the iPhone SE and 9.7-inch iPad Pro, but Apple has also recently made announcements concerning two software frameworks that could significantly improve your life even if youāve never picked up an Apple device. What are they? ResearchKit and CareKit.
ResearchKit, originally announced in March 2015, intends to help scientists in gathering vital data for use in their studies into public health. A wide range of iPhone and iPod Touch users can, using apps developed with ResearchKit, submit data about their personal health to research institutions investigating such conditions as asthma, cardiovascular disease, breast cancer and diabetes.
At its March media event, Apple announced not only advancements to ResearchKit, but also a whole new software framework, CareKit. Apps built with CareKit can assist many iOS device users in managing their own health; one of the first such apps, Apple revealed, would be for Parkinsonās disease sufferers.
Both ResearchKit and CareKit have huge potential for changing health research and care ā and you can read much more about why in the new issue of AppleMagazine. Itās now available for anyone who subscribes through our free app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
