Apple Music, the Cupertino firm’s music streaming service, provides access to over 90 million tracks and playlists. You can immerse yourself in your music on Apple products, as well as on PCs, Sonos, Android, Amazon Edge, PlayStation 5 and even more devices.
There is a range of available subscription tiers for Apple Music, but quite often users don’t have to pay the usual full asking price. If you’ve never used the service before, you qualify for a three-month free trial, and Apple has previously offered free trials even to lapsed subscribers.
Right now, there are a few ways you can qualify for a free subscription for up to six months. Best of all, some of them don’t ask you to spend a cent.
Apple is currently offering six months free to new Apple Music users who have AirPods, a HomePod mini or Beats headphones. There is no purchase necessary, so if you already own an eligible device, you qualify. Those who currently own one of these devices have 90 days from the date they updated their device to iOS 15 or iPadOS 15 to claim their trial.
You can also qualify for five months free without buying anything. Just download the Shazam app to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and use it to identify a music track that’s playing. When you Shazam a song, a button will appear inviting you to “Open In Apple Music”. Once you tap on this, you will receive an offer of five free months, so long as you’ve never used Apple Music before.
However, if you have previously taken advantage of your three-month free trial of the service, you can still Shazam a song and benefit from an extra two months of free streaming.
