How to listen to Spotify on Apple Watch without your iPhone

Smart Watch

Spotify has introduced music streaming on the Apple Watch for the first time.

Earlier in the year, it was confirmed that the company was testing support for streaming on the Apple Watch app, and now the service is rolling out to consumers around the world.

Users began spotting the new feature on their wearable devices yesterday (November 3), with a new prompt asking “Would you like to Spotify on your Apple Watch? Choose it here.”

The new update means Spotify subscribers can listen to their favorite music and audio content away from their iPhone, making the Spotify app is now more accessible and can be used on runs and walks, without needing to carry an iPhone in your pocket.

Users will need an Apple Watch with cellular data to make this possible or a Wifi connection at home.

Spotify for Apple Watch also features a recently-played section, but there isn’t a search feature, so you’ll need to depend on Siri to play specific songs or artists not already in your playlists.
