How to make sure you close your Apple Watch rings every day

A black background features three concentric neon rings: a pink outer ring, a green middle ring, and a blue inner ring. Each incomplete ring has gaps that create an illusion of depth, reminiscent of the Apple Watch rings you strive to close every day.

Whether you’re trying to lose weight or you want to keep on top of your fitness, wearing an Apple Watch is a smart move. Not only can you track the number of calories you burn and download apps to help you on your journey to living a fitter, healthier life, but Apple will prompt you to get off your bottom and do some exercise.

One which way is the Apple Watch ‘rings’ tracking your stand hours, calorific burn, and exercise minutes per day.

Below, we’ve rounded up some ways you can ensure you close your Apple Watch rings every day.

Start the day with a jog or walk

If you’re one of those people who want to close all three things every day, consider starting your morning with a walk or jog around your local area. Not only is an early morning jog great for your health and wellbeing, but you’ll put yourself in positive stead for the day ahead, knowing that you’ve contributed to calorie burn and exercise.

Wear it as soon as you wake up

One of the most frustrating things about Apple Watch rings is Stand Hours.

You need to stand for at least one minute every hour for twelve hours a day, but if you’re in the car, sat in an office, or too busy to move about, you won’t earn a Stand Hour. Don’t forget about wearing your watch as soon as you wake up so your Stand Hours are tracked from your breakfast right through to going to bed on an evening.

Buy a standing desk

We’ve just talked about Stand Hours, and how it can be tricky to complete your rings when you’re busy in the office. If you want to reduce the chances of missing out on an hour of standing, why not switch to a standing desk? They’re known to lower your risk of weight gain, lower blood sugar levels, reduce back pain, improve mood, boost productivity, and help you live longer. It sounds like a win-win to us!

Lower your goals

If you’re worried your suggested exercise goal has been set too high, you can lower it, increasing your chances of closing your rings. Open the Activity app on your Apple Watch, press on your rings (Force Touch) and tap Change Move Goal, and then lower your goal using the buttons or your Digital Crown.
