Heard everyone talking about The Chosen recently and want to get in on the action but not sure how? Do not fear, here’s the lowdown on how to watch all episodes of The Chosen (and where you’ll be guaranteed to find newly released Season Two) on your new Apple TV 4K— AppleMagazine #498 cover story.

You may not believe it, but The Chosen is actually the first-ever multi-season series that follows the life of Jesus Christ and His disciples, with personal stories embedded throughout the historical drama. It’s been viewed a whopping 120 million times and its IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes ratings (9.8/10 and 100% respectively) tell you everything you need to know: The Chosen should be at the top of your “to watch” list. It makes for gripping, family-friendly viewing that’s fun to watch whether you’re Christian or not.

Season Two arrived on our screens on April 4th, 2021, so there’s no time to waste. The production crew hopes to make it to seven seasons in total. There’s no time like the present to begin the journey and get watching!

The Chosen App

The Chosen is available to download for free on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store worldwide. Instead of paying for a streaming platform, this ‘Christian app’ allows you to watch The Chosen in a dedicated place for free. There’s no reason to miss out on the bigger screen experience, though, because you can cast the app to your TV using Roku, FireTV, Chromecast, Apple TV, Android TV, or an HDMI cable. That way you have the choice to watch it on the go or cozy on the sofa at home.

Best of all, The Chosen app offers bonus content related to the show, such as trailers, behind-the-scenes footage, related projects, and more. We’re all familiar with that feeling of finishing an epic TV series and not wanting to part with the cast or their characters, which is why the bonus content the app provides is an awesome perk.

If you’re still unable to let go after consuming all of the bonus content, you can even buy related products such as DVDs and books to keep The Chosen ever-present in your life. Or easily share the app with others via text to spread the love.

The app also gives you the chance to Pay It Forward to help fund future seasons of the show and donate to a good cause. If you want to be part of making sure the show keeps going to fulfill your entertainment needs, this is the best place to start. Then, you can write and receive thank you notes from people around the world who benefitted from your Pay It Forward.

The Chosen is available to watch on online. While this is a great option, it’s far less accessible on the go or on a TV than the app version. When watching the series from your smartphone browser or cast to a TV from the browser, you’re not going to receive the same quality viewing experience as you would from the dedicated app. However, this is still an amazing way to watch the Christian series if you don’t have access to a smartphone or tablet.

The Chosen airs on BYUtv, a TV channel that operates across the US. Good news for US viewers hoping to watch on a TV screen, but less good for anyone outside of the US. Also, in the age of internet streaming, less and less viewers have access to cable TV. Watching on BYUtv is, therefore, less accessible.

What’s more, as easy as it is these days to record our favorite TV shows, there’s less necessity to do so when you can just download The Chosen app and binge watch whenever you feel like.

BYUtv does allow viewers to stream the series online, which is great news. However, if you find you’re the sort of person who prefers TV viewing, this may not be an option for you. However, for any of you smartphone and tablet-less people out there, check out The Chosen on BYUtv – you won’t be disappointed!
