Hyper to Release External Batteries for 29W MacBook Charging

Though the 12-inch MacBook with Retina display that Apple launched this year can be charged with external USB battery packs, there are currently no such packs capable of charging the notebook at its full 29 watt speed. Hyper has proposed a solution: the HyperJuice Magic Box.

The hefty power demands of this MacBook model mean that most currently-available USB battery packs are only capable of maintaining, rather than replenishing, its charge. To address this issue, Hyper, a company experienced in developing external battery packs for MacBook, has today launched a fundraising project on Indiegogo for the HyperJuice Magic Box.

As Hyper makes clear in the above introductory video, the Magic Box is an adapter that can be used with HyperJuice battery packs to charge this Retina display MacBook at the full 29W speed. This version of the Magic Box – there will also be a less expensive 12W version – can be ordered through the Indiegogo project page for $35. HyperJuice battery packs can also be ordered through this page.
