Instagram App Now “Generally Available” on Windows 10 Mobile

Though it hasn’t yet emerged from the beta phase, the Instagram app is now, as MSPoweruser reports, “generally available” in the Windows Store. This means that users searching the store with the term “Instagram” can now find the app listed as available for them to download.

The app’s most recent update has added the abilities to capture, edit and post videos, use Instagram Direct to send photos, videos and messages to friends, and use Explore to browse posts and discover new accounts to follow. However, Facebook has cautioned that it remains busy with addressing some stability issues that can occur when Instagram (Beta), as the app is currently called, is used to take photos.

This recent broadening of availability through the Windows Store suggests that Facebook consider the app almost ready to shed its beta status. When exactly that will happen remains unclear – but, if you have a Windows 10 Mobile handset, you can now download Instagram (Beta) for free.
