Instagram has rolled out a new feature that allows users on Twitter to see content on the plaform.
From today, when users share a link to an Instagram post on Twitter, they’ll see a preview of the post in the tweet. It’s a feature that most other websites and apps offer, but Instagram turned off the feature back in 2012 when it said it wanted to drive more traffic away from Twitter and towards the Instagram platform.
Indeed, a spokesperson for the company confirmed they turned off Twitter Cards support back in 2012, but now it appears as though this decision has been reversed to improve user experience on both platforms.
“Now, when you share an Instagram link on Twitter, a preview of that post will appear,” Instagram said.
