Apple has just released iOS 10.0.2, which squashes a bug affecting usage of the new Lightning EarPods and another bug which could cause the Photos app to unexpectedly quit.
Earlier this week, Business Insider reported that the Lightning EarPods which come packaged with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus and are also available for separate purchase from Apple could time out following a short period of music listening. This would leave the remote unable to control volume and answer phone calls, but the problem has now been rectified with iOS 10.0.2.
Some users have also been seeing the Photos app quit upon activation of the iCloud Photo Library. This issue, too, has now been resolved – as has another that prevented some app extensions from being enabled.
For compatible iOS devices, iOS 10.0.2 can now be freely downloaded through Software Update in Settings or via the iTunes desktop software when the device is connected.
