iOS 10 and OS X “Fuji” Said to Be in Early Internal Testing

Less than two months after the releases of iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan, Apple has evidently ramped up early internal testing of the successor operating systems iOS 10 and OS X 10.12.

9to5Mac reports sources indicating that development of these systems, respectively for mobile and Mac and expected to be released in late 2016, is now “moving forward at full speed”. Apple has apparently allocated much of its software engineering resources to the task.

The news site’s close look at Google Analytics data has revealed that both systems have been put to more frequent testing in recent weeks, following tentative steps earlier in the fall. According to 9to5Mac‘s sources, the codename of the upcoming version of OS X is “Fuji”. Apple’s next WWDC conference, in Spring 2016, is likely the event at which both systems will be formally announced.
