iOS 18 to Feature Phone Call Recording & Transcription One of iOS 18’s intriguing features will enable automatic recording and transcription of phone calls directly through the Phone app.

iOS 18 to Feature Phone Call Recording

Once a call is answered or made, users can activate recording, with all participants being notified to ensure transparency. As the call progresses, the iPhone provides a live transcript of the conversation.

Apple’s new Intelligence features will also offer a summary of key points discussed during the call, allowing users to quickly review important details.

The transcription feature will support English (U.S., UK, Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore), Spanish (U.S., Mexico, Spain), French (France), German (Germany), Japanese (Japan), Mandarin Chinese (China mainland, Taiwan), Cantonese (China mainland, Hong Kong), and Portuguese (Brazil).

Additional Phone app enhancements include a call history search interface, autofill for numbers when typing digits, and seamless SIM card switching.

Apple will extend these audio and transcription capabilities to the Notes app, enabling audio recording with live transcription on ‌iPhone‌ 12 and later models.
