iOS 8.1.1 Rolled Out – Older Devices Compatible

Apple have this week rolled out iOS 8.1.1 for their iPhone, IPod touch and iPad devices. Unlike many updates of this ilk, the new version of the operating system is compatible with some of their older devices including the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. Apple promise that the update boosts security and fixes various bugs. Though some similar updates have in fact made things worse for owners of older devices, slowing their machines down even further, Apple is adamant that those who have been using theirs for years will benefit from updating the operating system.

Mac owners can also benefit from an update with the release of OS X 10.10.1. This is Apple’s first update to Yosemite and the tech giant says that results should include better Wi-Fi connectivity, enhanced Microsoft Exchange connections and greater Mail efficiency. The update should enhance the Back to My Mac feature too.
