Apple has just pushed the first beta of the upcoming iOS 9.3.3 to developers for testing. All of the changes that this beta brings are currently unclear, but included could be a fix for models of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro that were rendered unusable upon attempts to update them to iOS 9.3.2.
Shortly after the public release of iOS 9.3.2 a week ago, reports emerged that many users of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro were, after updating, seeing the deviceās screen display a prompt to connect the iPad to iTunes. However, following this instruction would not solve the problem, leaving the tablet bricked.
A few days ago, Apple pulled iOS 9.3.2 for this iPad Pro model ā the 12.9-inch model was not affected by the bug ā and left iOS 9.3.1 as the most recent update for the device. In a statement to iMore, Apple revealed that it was āworking on a fixā and would āissue an update as quickly as possibleā.
Itās unclear whether iOS 9.3.3 will be that update. In any case, as the version number indicates, iOS 9.3.3 is a minor release and, therefore, unlikely to stay in the beta stage for very long.
