Apple's latest version of their iconic iPad is in physical and online stores today. The “iPad Air” can be found at the Apple Store (both online and physical stores), as well as other stores where the iPad is usually sold such as Best Buy, and the four major phone carriers. Apple is expecting to be able to keep up with the demand for the device and not run out of them, unlike the new iPhones in September.
I'm happy to report that so far Apple is keeping up with the demand. Through a series of events, I forgot to order the iPad the minute it went on sale and was afraid to rely on a physical store. I'm not one for standing around in long lines. I decided to try the Apple Store online, just to see how long I would have to wait.
Signing onto the Apple Store, I was happy to find that not only did they still have iPads left, they had the one I wanted, the 32 GB Space Gray iPad Air. And not only was it available, but it's shipping now. This means I will have it in my hands on Monday. That's unbelievable. When I ordered my iPhone 5 a few hours after it went on sale last year, I had to wait a few weeks.
You can bet that on Monday I'll be checking in again to report on my findings with the iPad Air. I expect nothing less than greatness.
